Terri’s fight is over now. She has won the battle against pain and suffering. She died yesterday morning of court ordered starvation and dehydration. I heard a Democrat this morning on one of the morning shows, she said that had Terri been gay or found herself in that condition due to an abortion, the right wouldn’t have been there to protest her death. I would have, and I know many other Christians who would have. You see, we live under a code that tells us that wrong is wrong, and murder is murder no matter the persons background.
To Terri’s family; I can’t begin to imagine the pain you feel right now. I pray though that you will have peace in knowing that your daughter is in a new body. She no longer feels the pain of hunger. She no longer feels the pain and confusion of being in a body that has betrayed her. I pray that God will watch over you and comfort you in this time of sorrow.
To Michael; Not letting Terri’s family in at the time of her death was a nice touch you scumbag. If people didn’t know what kind of an idiot you were, that and the fact that you’ve told them not to come to the funeral should have resolved that issue. I know that one day God will show you the error of your ways. Rest assured, you will stand judgment.
To our leaders and our judicial system; This needs to stop. Please make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. Write legislation that demands incontrovertible proof of wishes. Make people put their wishes in writing!!

well said Jim. I know that you have a special hurt with this one. Its hard to know what its like to be trapped in a body that won’t do something (like talk) if you haven’t been there, and I know you have.

We now have a job to do that is most difficult. That is to destroy, if it has started, or uproot, if it it starting to take hold, any root of bitterness concerning Michael Schiavo and Judge Greer. We are told By our Lord to pray for our enemies and I believe he meant it. If not for their own well being and salvation then for our own welfare. The last thing we need and the last thing that will draw people to the kingdom is for Christians to walk around looking like they are sucking on lemons. There may come comments after this one declaring me wrong but please remember we are not the ones that stand at the gate welcoming or denying admission.
God’s grace and mercy is greater than ours and everyone needs both for salvation. Praying for them is the best way to be relieved of the animosity. I know because I’ve been working on it and it is going to be a LONNNGGG process.

Prying,
I agree, but we must also hold them accountable for their actions

Since you did not feel that a single voice of dissent was worth posting, I decided to return the favor on my site.
As for your allegation that I know nothing of government, well, I suggest that you read the constitution. You gave me a very accurate description of the duties each branch has.
It is a fundamental principle that Congress cannot simply overrule court decisions it does not like — except in the very limited case in which it can amend federal statutes in a case that turns on statutory interpretation. But here, Congress tried to rewrite–or rather, invalidate–prior judicial rulings that were the law of Terri’s case, violating the bedrock principle of the separation of powers among three co-equal branches of government.
You did not address the real reason why I commented on your entry to begin with. I asked you, if murder is murder, why you would support capital punishment.
If you feel like continuing this friendly debate, please do not say something like “do you know ANYTHING about government?” I have not said anything to you about you having insufficient knowledge of civics, and I would appreciate it if you had the same courtesy. I am a political science major, and I know the way government works inside and out.

First let me say that since you did not find it within yourself to post my comments, I chose not to post yours either. Your allegations regarding my insufficient knowledge of civics is rather odd, considering you seem to have misunderstood my comments. I asked you whether you support capital punishment if you truly feel that “murder is murder.” I talked about how I do not think that Mr. Schiavo is a bad person, or a “scumbag” as you refer to him. I said that since he did not accept a bribe to divorce her, he clearly is interested in protecting her wishes.
Secondly, with regard to your government tirade, it is a fundamental principle that Congress cannot simply overrule court decisions it does not like — except in the very limited case in which it can amend federal statutes in a case that turns on statutory interpretation. But here, Congress tried to rewrite–or rather, invalidate–prior judicial rulings that were the law of Terri’s case, violating the bedrock principle of the separation of powers among three co-equal branches of government.
If you do not believe this, then read the consitution. I have, many times, as I am a political science major.
If you feel like continuing what I though had started as a friendly debate, please do not degrade me. I do know something about government, even though it would seem you disagree from your question “do you know ANYTHING about government?”
