Kerry to Try Bin Laden in U.S. Court

In an interview with the AP, John Kerry said that he wants to see Bin Laden tried in a U.S. court. He said, “I would go the fastest, surest route of conviction, and in my belief that would be a trial for murder in the United States”. Kerry seems to be reverting to true Demo form by insisting we treat the war on terror as a criminal case. This will get us in trouble, a trial would waste vital time and money that could be spent elsewhere, such as funding our military, funding the war on terror, and funding the reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I don’t want to see Bin Laden put on trial, I want to see him killed like the battlefield combatant he is. To try him in a U.S. court would give Bin Laden to much of a chance to be acquitted, especially with the huckster trial and defense lawyers we have in our justice system these days… maybe John Edwards could use some of his trial lawyer voodoo to get him off (no doubt, Bin Laden is hoping for a Kerry win).

In other campaign news, in a stunning display of hypocrisy, Kerry attacked Bush for running a negative campaign. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy who accused Bush of misleading the country, accused John Ashcroft of not upholding the Constitution, accused Vice President Cheney of having “secret meetings with polluters”, and accused SecDef Rumsfeld of going rogue and not listening to advice from our military leaders.

I will be a commander in chief who will never mislead us into war. I will have a Vice President who will not conduct secret meetings with polluters to rewrite our environmental laws. I will have a Secretary of Defense who will listen to the best advice of our military leaders. And I will appoint an Attorney General who actually upholds the Constitution of the United States.

Keep in mind, this is coming from a candidate who’s surrogates likened our President to Hitler. A candidate who’s surrogates have taken out a full page ad in the WaPo insisting, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary that Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction. Yes, this unbelievable example of hypocrisy is coming from a candidate who belongs to the same party as Dean and his “I Have a Scream” speech, Gore and his “He Played on our Fears” Speech, and Michael Moore and his crockumentary. Gee, when you put it in that light, his accusation doesn’t hold a lot of water does it?

The Undoing of John Kerry

Blood pressure firmly in check, and well rested, it’s time for the in depth post I promised on “the speech” last night. First impressions, it was a miserable failure, not because he didn’t try, but because for anyone paying attention to this race, his arguments for not re-electing Bush and for electing John Kerry were transparent lies. For example:

Now I know there are those who criticize me for seeing complexities, and I do, because some issues just aren’t all that simple. Saying there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq doesn’t make it so. Saying we can fight a war on the cheap doesn’t make it so.

You don’t value families if you force them to take up a collection to buy body armor for a son or daughter in the service

No one has ever said we can fight the war on the cheap, and the claim of running a bake sale has been debunked over and over again. And why, if Senator Kerry is so against fighting a war on the cheap, and so concerned about bake sales for body armor, did he vote against the $87 billion that would have gone to fight the war and to provide the body armor.

This is just the beginning, another one of his more blatant contradictions is his “band of brothers”. I wonder what his band of brothers thinks about him accusing them of war crimes. Seriously, how can a man who came home from war early to accuse his fellow soldiers of war crimes earn the respect of today’s fighting men and women? How can a man who has voted against every major weapons system we now employ in the war on terror earn the respect of today’s fighting men and women?

The whole speech, and indeed his whole case for being elected president revolves around a military leadership position he admits was 4 months a half a lifetime ago. Pretty weak when you consider his Senate record on defense for the last 20 some odd years.

Since 2000, four million people have lost their health insurance. Millions more are struggling to afford it.

You know what’s happening. Your premiums, your co-payments, your deductibles have all gone through the roof.

Our health care plan for a stronger America cracks down on the waste, greed, and abuse in our health care system and will save families up to $1,000 a year on their premiums. You’ll get to pick your own doctor — and patients and doctors, not insurance company bureaucrats, will make medical decisions. Under our plan, Medicare will negotiate lower drug prices for seniors. And all Americans will be able to buy less expensive prescription drugs from countries like Canada.

The story of people struggling for health care is the story of so many Americans. But you know what, it’s not the story of senators and members of Congress. Because we give ourselves great health care and you get the bill. Well, I’m here to say, your family’s health care is just as important as any politician’s in Washington, D.C.

And when I’m President, America will stop being the only advanced nation in the world which fails to understand that health care is not a privilege for the wealthy, the connected, and the elected - it is a right for all Americans.

Here we go, socialized medicine. Government involvement is the cure all for everything. Ask anyone in Canada how good their healthcare system is. The standard wait for an MRI, an important diagnostic tool for many injuries, is six months. The standard wait for a woman to receive treatment for breast cancer is nine months, nine months that could mean the difference between life and death. You can find out more about Canada’s healthcare crisis here.

I am someone who is infinitely familiar with the healthcare system, as I have had an ongoing health crisis over the last year and a half. I know it’s expensive, I can’t pay for a lot of the lifesaving treatment I have received, but I still received it. No person in a life threatening situation has ever been turned away from a hospital in America because they couldn’t pay. As far as ongoing care such as flu shots and such, there are many free or sliding scale health care clinics in this country that provide excellent care. The crux of the healthcare issue is this though, until there is tort reform, healthcare reform is a meaningless slogan!!

To sum things up, John Kerry tried to portray himself as a hawk while running from his disastrous record on defense in the Senate. He tried to propose billions in domestic spending that the majority of Americans just won’t go for because they know we’ll have to pay the tab. And he showed is proclivity for hypocrisy when he called for a contest of big ideas, not small-minded attacks not even an hour after attacking George Bush, and John Ashcroft on their conduct in the war on terror. Attacks which were not only “small minded” but baseless. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you John Kerry, a man of the people.

Quick Summary

A quick summary tonight and I’ll post more in depth tomorrow. Kerry seemed to spend quite alot of time tonight trying to portray himself as a hawk while trying his level best to run away from his own Senate record on defense.  He proposed billions in domestic spending including socialized medicine, no mention of tort reform of course, proposed a comparatively small increase in military spending, promised to increase taxes on the “wealthy”, promised to reduce the deficit, and balance the budget. He spent alot of time talking about his military service record, criticized Bush for his handling of the war, beat up on Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Ashcroft, then after beating up on the administration, had the gall to ask:

…let’s be optimists, not just opponents. Let’s build unity in the American family, not angry division…

More tomorrow, I need to let my blood pressure go down before I go any further…

Muzzles off Already?

BOSTON– Sharpton repeatedly departed from his prepared text — text that had been scrubbed by John Kerry’s staff — and the amended message resonated with the delegates who frequently interrupted his address with cheers and applause.

I knew it, they couldn’t even wait until after the convention to take off the muzzles. Tonight, Rev. Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich chewed through their muzzles and attacked George Bush. The best part about it is they made it so easy to refute their arguments. Here are some of the points from Rev. Sharpton’s speech:

Forty years ago, in 1964, Fannie Lou Hamer and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party stood at the Democratic convention in Atlantic City fighting to preserve voting rights for all America and all Democrats, regardless of race or gender.

Hamer’s stand inspired Dr. King’s march in Selma, which brought about the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Twenty years ago, Reverend Jesse Jackson stood at the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco, again, appealing to the preserve those freedoms.

Tonight, we stand with those freedoms at risk and our security as citizens in question.

Really? What freedoms or civil liberties are at risk Mr. Sharpton? If you mean your voting rights, the Republican party has never, and would never take them away. If you are referencing the Patriot Act, I challenge you or any other Democrat to name one way the Patriot Act has effected your civil rights. It seems to me, in this statement anyway, that you are engaging in exactly what you and your fellow Democrats have accused us of doing… fear mongering. But lets move on to the rest of the speech shall we?

Look at the current view of our nation worldwide as a results of our unilateral foreign policy. We went from unprecedented international support and solidarity on September 12, 2001, to hostility and hatred as we stand here tonight. We can’t survive in the world by ourselves.

First of all we didn’t act unilaterally, there were forty some odd nations who came to our aid in Iraq. Yes, some have backed out due to political pressure at home, namely Spain. Secondly, acting unilaterally is not illegal. President Bush said it best when he said we will not seek a permission slip to defend this country. For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, multilateralism is the new appeasement doctrine. Those who claim the multilateralist doctrine automatically have a way out of every conflict or attack, they can simply blame inaction on the slowly grinding wheels of U.N. bureaucracy.

more of the Supreme Court Justice seats will become available. This year we celebrated the anniversary of Brown v. the Board of Education.

This court has voted five to four on critical issues of women’s rights and civil rights. It is frightening to think that the gains of civil and women rights and those movements in the last century could be reversed if this administration is in the White House in these next four years.

Fear mongering, fear mongering I tell you!!

This is not about a party. This is about living up to the promise of America. The promise of America says we will guarantee quality education for all children and not spend more money on metal detectors than computers in our schools.

It’s so hard to resist one liners, but…. Are you admitting to being weak on homeland security. Personally, I hope we are spending more on metal detectors, we need to.

The promise of America guarantees health care for all of its citizens and doesn’t force seniors to travel to Canada to buy prescription drugs they can’t afford here at home.

Actually, no it doesn’t. Socialized medicine is not guaranteed anywhere in our founding documents. Further more, the high cost of prescription drugs and healthcare are due to the Democrat’s best friends…. you guessed it, the trial lawyers (John Edwards). I would like to see a time in this country when doctors wouldn’t have to worry about whether or not they could afford malpractice insurance.

The promise of America provides that those who work in our health care system can afford to be hospitalized in the very beds they clean up every day.

Once again, thank the trial lawyers (John Edwards).

The promise of America is that government does not seek to regulate your behavior in the bedroom, but to guarantee your right to provide food in the kitchen.

The issue of government is not to determine who may sleep together in the bedroom, it’s to help those that might not be eating in the kitchen.

First of all, outside of socially unacceptable behaviors such as child molestation, no one has tried to regulate who you sleep with, or what activity goes on in your bedroom. There are plenty of morally reprehensible things that occur in bedrooms all across the country every day, and I have yet to hear of the FBI or any other federal agency trying to stop it.

As for the issue of your right to provide food, once again, I see no one trying to stop you. As for the issue of “helping those who might not be eating in the kitchen”, we do. We (the U.S. taxpayer) spend billions of dollars every year to make sure that everyone who wants help can get it.

The promise of America is one immigration policy for all who seek to enter our shores, whether they come from Mexico, Haiti or Canada, there must be one set of rules for everybody.

No there shouldn’t be one set of rules for everybody. In case you haven’t noticed we have a war on our hands right now. There are people from predominately Muslim countries out there who wish us harm. And in case you didn’t notice this on 9/11, they’re not checking voter registration cards.

…We cannot look at the Latino community and preach “one language.” No one gave them an English test before they sent them to Iraq to fight for America.

First of all, this is something Michael Moore tried to pull last night with Bill O’reilly. This idea that the troops in Iraq are there unwillingly. When these brave men and women signed up to enlist in the military there’s one thing they all had in common. They all knew that war, that fighting for their country was a possibility. Some of them signed up after 9/11 because they wanted to fight, they wanted to defend their country. Secondly, yes we can preach one language, they are in our country now, we speak english here. I could not move to China, Mexico, France, or any other country on the face of the earth and insist that they learn english simply because I live there. Why should the Latino community insist that we learn spanish simply because they live here?

Mr. President, as I close, Mr. President, I heard you say Friday that you had questions for voters, particularly African- American voters. And you asked the question: Did the Democratic Party take us for granted? Well, I have raised questions. But let me answer your question.

You said the Republican Party was the party of Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. It is true that Mr. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, after which there was a commitment to give 40 acres and a mule.

That’s where the argument, to this day, of reparations starts. We never got the 40 acres. We went all the way to Herbert Hoover, and we never got the 40 acres.

We didn’t get the mule. So we decided we’d ride this donkey as far as it would take us.

Tell that to General Colin Powell (Ret.), Dr. Condolizza Rice, or Justice Thomas and see if that argument holds water. They seem to have made it just fine on their own.

This vote can’t be bargained away. This vote can’t be given away. Mr. President, in all due respect, Mr. President, read my lips: Our vote is not for sale.

Of course I saved the best quote for last. It’s obvious that his vote isn’t for sale. He’s already sold out to the highest bidder, the party of big government, the party of entitlement, the party of reparations, the party of the great society, the party of appeasement…

Perfect Example of Iraq Flip Flop

More a linker than thinker today, sorry. Dem’s Extreme Makeover has an ad/documentary released today by the GOP that shows John Kerry flip flopping on not only Operation Iraqi Freedom, but Operation Desert Storm as well. Kerry has changed positions so many times, I don’t even think he knows what his  position is. The question is, if he doesn’t know what his position is how are we supposed to know what his position is.

In other convention news, John Edwards and Al Sharpton are supposed to speak tonight. I am looking forward to hearing both speech’s. I plan on having a meaty post on both of their speech’s sometime tomorrow. I meant to link to this earlier, it’s a handy guide for those of you wondering who’s speaking when this week.

Don’t miss Lilek’s bleat on his show down with Regis the frog on HH’s show yesterday. I mean it, go, read, now!!!

Dems on Valium

I have watched the convention the last two nights with some since of dread and amazement. Al, Bill, Hillary, and Ron Reagan, all of them either had muzzles on or finally had their medications adjusted correctly. But don’t worry, muzzles can only last for so long. I expect after the convention is over, and the Kerry camp stops vetting speeches you will see the hatred and vitriol return.

Ron Reagan tonight,  started out his speech  by saying this is not a political speech. He ended his speech by endorsing John Kerry for president. Hmmmm…… that seems like a political speech to me. Regarding embryonic stem cell research, I will say this again it’s murder. They use fertilized eggs that would normally, had the mother not chosen to abort, have developed into a normal healthy child. You can find more information on this topic from a conservative point of view here, and here.

I urge you to listen to what the Democrats are saying this week. Most importantly though, I ask you to look at their record. Their record of out of control spending on “welfare” programs here at home and abroad, their record of gutting both the defense and intelligence community, and their record of fumbling foreign policy issues. I urge you to look at their record of ignoring the threat Al Qaida posed to this country as early as the beginning of the Clinton Administration. Then decide who you want to lead this country.

Speaking of Failed Liberal Policy Makers…

I’ve been reading a number of very good books by conservative authors, among them If It’s Not Close They Can’t Cheat by Hugh Hewitt, and Deliver Us From Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism by TV commentator Sean Hannity. In his book, Sean reminds us that it was Jimmy Carters betrayal of the Shah-a staunch prowestern ally-in Iran that lead to Saddam Hussein’s rise to power.

Looking back, I’m continually amazed at just how much damage Jimmy Carter managed to do in his single four-year term. Tolerating the Soviet arms buildup, endorsing Senator Frank Church’s gutting of the CIA, giving away the Panama Canal-his administration undermined American interests at every turn. But it’s hard to think of a blunder that had longer and more disastrous repercussions than his betrayal of Iran….

[…]

…Within the context of the Persian Gulf, the Shah had actually been a moderate influence. But early in his administration, in his sanctimonious way, Jimmy Carter began pressuring the Iranian leader to stop holding military tribunals, and to release certain political prisoners-some of whom were known Terrorists-and try them in civilian courts…

Of course, we all know that the Shah was eventually booted from power and kicked out of the country. His replacement, the Ayatollah, was very anti western and we needed to support someone in the region so as to stabilize it. This is how we ended up supporting Saddam during the Iran-Iraq war. So next time you hear the Democrat attack machine accusing the Republicans of helping Saddam into power, remind them that Saddam was simply a result of Carter betraying the Shah.

The Direction of the DNC

It is said that you can tell the direction of a convention and a party by the speakers at the podium. The DNC convention this week will be no different. As we look at the schedule for the first day, keep in mind the policies and beliefs of those scheduled to speak. They don’t represent the beliefs of mainstream America, they represent the beliefs of hollywood liberal elites. And perhaps the most frightening, they represent the views and ideals of socialist governments such as France, Germany, and Russia.

The first days schedule of speakers is a virtual who’s who of failed liberal policy makers and liberal elites.

David Alston, Vietnam Swift Boat Crewmate of John Kerry
Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Representative from Wisconsin
Jimmy Carter, Former President of the United States
Bill Clinton, Former President of the United States
Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senator from New York
Al Gore, Former Vice-President of the United States
Steny Hoyer, U.S. Representative from Maryland, Democratic Whip
Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of the Democratic Party
Kendrick Meek, U.S. Representative from Florida
Robert Menendez, U.S. Representative from New Jersey
Thomas Menino, Mayor of Boston
Barbara Mikulski, U.S. Senator from Maryland (joined by all Women Senators)
Stephanie Tubbs Jones, U.S. Representative from Ohio
Jim Turner, U.S. Representative from Texas

I am joining my fellow bloggers for Bush this week in committing to covering the convention. I along with hundreds of other bloggers will be keeping you informed of the policy statements, lies, and half truths spoken by the dems, as well as telling you how the Republicans differ in policy and beliefs. I look forward to the coming week, and even more importantly, re-electing President George W. Bush in November.

It’s Going to Happen Again

An article in the Washington Times details how airlines are being probed by middle easterners regularly. On a June 29th Northwest Airlines flight, which I blogged about on July 16th, from Detroit to Los Angeles 14 middle eastern men acted in a strange and terrifying manner. Once the flight was airborne they began congregating in groups of two or three, they stood nearly the entire flight, went to bathrooms consecutively. One of the men took a McDonald’s bag into a bathroom, and upon returning to his seat, gave the bag to one of the other men. Others took cameras and cell phones into the bathrooms during the flight. Perhaps the most disconcerting incident on this flight occurred when the pilot announced the plane was cleared for landing. When he requested that passengers fasten their seat belts, seven of the men jumped up in unison and went to different bathrooms.

You may be thinking “that’s not all that worrisome”, apparently it was. These acts had the attention of the flight crew, passengers, and Federal Air Marshals. They had Homeland Security or the FBI waiting for them when they landed. But that’s not all, there have been other probes of our security measures. Here are some more examples from the Times piece:

A Middle Eastern passenger attempted to videotape out the window as the plane taxied on takeoff and, when told by a flight attendant it was not permitted, “gave her a mean look and stopped taping,” said a written report of the San Juan incident by a flight attendant. The group of six men sat near one another, pretended to be strangers, but after careful observation from flight attendants, it was apparent “all six knew each other,” the report said. “They were very careful when we were in their area to seem separate and pretended to be sleeping, but when we were out of the twilight area, they were watching and communicating,” the report said.

The men made several trips to the bathroom and congregated in that area, and were told at least twice by a flight attendant to return to their seats. The suspicious behavior was relayed to airline officials in midflight and additional background checks were conducted.

A second pilot said that, on one of his recent flights, an air marshal forced his way into the lavatory at the front of his plane after a man of Middle Eastern descent locked himself in for a long period. The marshal found the mirror had been removed and the man was attempting to break through the wall. The cockpit was on the other side.

What are we doing in response to these dry runs or probes? Apparently nothing, none of the incidents in the article mention anything about an arrest being made. Minus the generalized measures meant for the intelligence community which were put forth by the 9/11 committee today, no further security measures have been suggested. The terror alert level hasn’t even been raised. As a country we are still paralyzed by political correctness to the  point where we won’t even profile. And it’s because of this that we will be hit again and again until we learn form our mistakes.

Edwards echoes Kerry’s Claim

We received one of two copies of If It’s Not Close They Can’t Cheat: Crushing The Democrats In Every Election And Why Your Life Depends On It today. If the rest of the book is as good as the first two chapters, then this book could very well become the campaign handbook for grassroots GOP volunteers for years to come. I plan on blogging on it more extensively in days to come.

In other news, a new blog in the blogosphere draws our attention to CNN’s Larry King Live. Presumptive Democratic party VP nominee John Edwards echoed John Kerry’s claim that European leaders want President George Bush out of office. Like Kerry, Edwards refused to name names. In fact the first quote from the article reads:

Sen. John Edwards said Wednesday that based on his recent conversations with NATO ambassadors, U.S. allies “believe that in order for them to have a fresh start with America, we’re going to need a new president, Now, they’re not going to want to say this very vocally, of course…”

However, Edwards gave up the real story behind the story when he was asked if the leaders had actually implied that they wanted a change in the White House.

“They didn’t say that directly. What they said was they’re very frustrated with the way this administration has dealt with them.”

So, let me see of I understand this Senator Edwards. You won’t tell us which leaders supposedly said they want President Bush out of office. In fact, no one actually said that, all they really said was that they were unhappy with the way they have been treated by the administration.

Presumably, these are the same leaders that passed toothless resolution after toothless resolution against Hussein’s regime in Iraq, and when it became time for action they did nothing because they were neck deep in monetary gains from their involvement in the U.N. oil for food scandal. I wonder if it ever occurred to senator Edwards that President Bush is fed up with the European leaders. Perhaps President Bush should call for a change of their leadership, in order to have a fresh start. As Torerolaw points out “…These are countries we should be building alliances with? Why, so they can stab us in the back in our time of need?”

What George Bush realizes, that apparently the Kerry/Edwards camp doesn’t, is that the U.N. and Europe can not and must not dictate American National Security policy. I am still eagerly awaiting the day when our leadership realizes that this endless pandering to the U.N. is a danger to not only our sovereignty but our country as a whole. With the importance the U.N. has gained in American politics in the last decade, particularly during the Clinton years, I’m not holding my breath.

Wait, I Thought They Were Against Outsourcing

In yet another stunning example of Democrat hypocrisy, Michigan democrats have outsourced the vetting of petitions to put Ralph Nader on the ballot in November to workers in India.

Republicans said Mark Grebner, of Practical Political Consulting in East Lansing, has sent digital copies of Nader’s petitions to a data entry firm in India. Grebner declined to comment on the allegation.

[…]

But Greg McNeilly, executive director of the state GOP, called the move hypocritical.

“Michigan Democrats are so intolerant of minority perspectives at the ballot box that they’ll outsource Michigan jobs in order to protect a two-party duopoly,” he said in a statement. “They are paying a firm in India for work that could be done by Michiganders.”

[…]

State Democratic Executive Chairman Mark Brewer has said the party is checking every signature, and it turned to Grebner to help meet Thursday’s deadline.

Grebner said he has used foreign workers in the past in countries such as Bangladesh for work that can’t be done by his U.S. staff of about 15 full-time workers. That includes work for Republicans as well as for Democrats, he added.

“This really is work that you can’t do in the (United States) because it just doesn’t make economic sense,” Grebner said of the work he sends overseas. “I can’t hire people to do some things here.”

I thought that was one of the Democrats complaints about the Bush economy. But, as is the case with so many other issues, outsourcing overseas for financial reasons is only bad if your a Republican.

How The Left is Spinning Berger Gate

Daschle– “The timing [of the release of this information] is suspect”. This is one of the ways that the left is handling Berger Gate. The New York Times buried it on page A-16, in there daily E-mail that lists the headlines doesn’t even mention it. So, here are some of the creative ways that they have found to spin this:

  • The timing is suspect
  • Bury it in the papers… if they can’t read about it, it didn’t happen
  • Use the TV and print media for maximum spin
  • It’s not illegal, just sloppy

What’s sad is that people will fall for their spin, they’ll either ignore it or they’ll believe that the Bush administration witheld the information until it could do the most damage to the Democratic party. As far as the former, all we as bloggers can do is talk about it as much as possible. The later is nonsense, if we wanted to withold the information until it could do maximum damage, we would have waited ’till September or October.

Sandy Berger Under Criminal Investigation

***Breaking News***

Former Clinton National Security Adviser Sandy Berger is under investigation for allegedly taking documents from a secure reading room prior to testifying in front of the 9/11 commission. These documents reportedly contain information relating to the Clinton administration’s handling of terrorism during the millennium celebration. The question of the day is if these documents weren’t damning, why would he run off with them? More as this story develops.

***UPDATE***

Stefan at Oh, That Liberal Media points out a Kerry conection. I don’t know if this will amount to anything more than hanging with the wrong crowd though (not likely).

The Lies of Joe Wilson

There has been much trouble caused by former Ambassador Joe Wilson and the left over what have been called “The Sixteen Words”. In the President’s 2003 State of The Union address he said:

The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed in the 1990s that Saddam Hussein had an advanced nuclear weapons development program, had a design for a nuclear weapon and was working on five different methods of enriching uranium for a bomb. The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa. Our intelligence sources tell us that he has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes suitable for nuclear weapons production. Saddam Hussein has not credibly explained these activities. He clearly has much to hide.

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Iraq Intelligence released their report and exposed Wilson for the partisan fraud that he is. The Democrats on this bipartisan committee refused to put this information in the report itself so the committee chairman put it in his “Additional Views” section. This can be found starting on page 442 of the report. Here’s the money quote from the intelligence committee report:

Conclusion: The plan to send the former ambassador to Niger was suggested by the former ambassador’s wife, a CIA employee.

The former ambassador’s wife suggested her husband for the trip to Niger in February 2002. The former ambassador had traveled to Niger before to Niger on behalf of the CIA, also at the suggestion of his wife, to look at another matter not related to Iraq. On February 12, 2002, the former ambassador’s wife sent a memorandum to a Deputy Chief in the CIA’s Directorate of operations which said, “[m]y husband has good relations with both the PM and the former Minister of Mines (not to mention lots of French Contacts), both of whom could possibly shed light on this sort of activity”. This was just one day before the same Directorate of Operations division sent a cable to one of it’s overseas stations requesting concurrence with the idea to send the former ambassador to Niger.

Conclusion: Rather than speaking publicly about his actual experiences during his inquiry of the Niger issue, the former ambassador seems to have included information he learned from press accounts and from his beliefs about how the Intelligence Community would have or should have handled the information he provided.

At the time the former ambassador traveled to Niger, the Intelligence Community did not have in its possession any documents on the alleged Niger-Iraq uranium deal. The former ambassadors comments to reporters that the Niger-Iraq uranium documents ”may have been forged because ‘the dates were wrong and the names were wrong,’” could not have been based on the former ambassadors actual experiences because the Intelligence Community did not have the documents at the time of the ambassadors trip. In addition, nothing in the report from the former ambassadors trip said anything about documents having been forged or the names or dates in the report having been incorrect…

***Developing***

In addition to this damning evidence, now with the release of the Butler Report, there is further evidence that the Niger-Iraq uranium deal may have actually taken place. More on this part of the story as it develops.

Iran Helped 9/11 Terrorists

Now we have this story on Iran. Iran is reported to have helped the 9/11 hijackers not only get through Iran, but also helped get them to America. If this is true, with Iran’s refusal to defuse their nuclear program, we may soon see more military action in the area. And rightly so,  after 9/11 during President Bush’s address to a joint session of Congress he warned the world by saying:

“…Your either with us or against us…”

If Iran is against us, then we need to show them that wed mean business. Now, whether this is something as simple as sanctions, or as complex as full scale military action, only time will tell. One thing is for sure though, Al Qaida is still out there, and we need to continue to fight the good fight.

“Terror in the Skies”…Absolutely Chilling

If this is true, It’s a chilling example of how vulnerable we still are as a nation. This article has been widely commented on, including extensive coverage by Jared at Exultate JustiHH, Instipundit, and Michelle Malkin to name a few. I am surprised that the Federal Air marshals didn’t do anything. What bothers me even more is that they were willing to sacrifice an untold number of lives in the name of being politically correct.

Operation “Summer Pulse ‘04″

I’ve heard rumors of this op for about six weeks, it seems now it has become reality. Most all of our naval assets have put to sea for summer joint and international excercises. The international excersise will be conducted with allies from the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia.

By SONJA BARISIC
Associated Press Writer

(AP) - The USS Harry S. Truman sailed Wednesday- and the USS Enterprise left Thursday - in a test of the Navy’s ability to have seven of its 12 carriers away from port simultaneously, a major shift from the way carriers have traditionally been used.

The two Norfolk-based carriers are participating in the exercise, dubbed “Summer Pulse 04.”

“Summer Pulse 04″ continues through August, with seven carriers conducting joint exercises and international exercises with allies from the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia, officials said.

“The ability to push that kind of military capability to the four corners of the world is quite remarkable,” Navy Secretary Gordon R. England said when he announced plans for the demonstration last week in Washington. “Several years ago, we could deploy only two” carriers at the same time.

This next part is pure speculation. With tensions rising in the Korean peninsula, Iran refusing to defuse it’s nuclear weapons program, and the threat of Al Qaeda attacks both at home and abroad maybe were gearing up for the next big offensive in the war on terror.

If It’s Not Close They Can’t Cheat

This is the title of Hugh’s latest book. It has risen to #11 on the Amazon.com “Best Sellers” list. In this time of unrest and lethal danger to Americans, both at home, and abroad, conservatives need to do everything they can to win elections, our lives depend on it. Imagine a world where our military has their hands tied waiting for permission from the U.N. before they can go after the bad guys. Imagine a world where our military is even smaller than it is now, this is the U.S. under the leadership of the likes of the Kerry/Kennedy/Edwards ticket the Democrats have put forth this year. Hugh’s book will tell us how to win these elections, and by supporting his “Adopt a Lefty Journalist” program you can send a very pointed message to people like Maureen Dowd, and Dana Milbank, a message that says “there’s a big country out there and most of us see you for who you are.”

Democrats Attempt to Destroy US Sovereignty Part 1

Just when you thought the Dems couldn’t sink any lower….and now this from Eddie Bernice Johnson’s (D,TX) website:

JOHNSON CALLS UPON THE UNITED NATIONS TO SEND OBSERVERS
TO MONITOR THIS FALLÂ’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
U.S.-BASED GROUPS CONCERNED ABOUT PROSPECTS OF VOTER DISENFRANCHISEMENT

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson issued an appeal to the United Nations (UN) to monitor this fall’s Presidential election. This morning Congresswoman Johnson was joined by other Members of Congress as they underscored the need for the UN to come to the United States and safeguard the rights of the American electorate. The request, spearheaded by Congresswoman Johnson, has generated interest at home and abroad and garnered international headlines.

“It is imperative that there be some type of independent monitoring for this fall’s election,” Congresswoman Johnson said during today’s news conference. “The United Nations provides this assistance for other Member countries. Why not the United States? We are not above the law. Nor are we above asking for assistance”.

“We are hoping our action will alleviate the nightmare and the humiliation that many voters suffered at the ballot box and the voting machine during the 2000 election. African-Americans, women and other U.S. citizens have fought too hard and too long for us to allow our votes not to be counted. We have to instill some trust and accountability back in the process, or people will lose faith in the power of their vote. The right to vote, and have votes counted, in free and fair elections is a cornerstone of representative government,” said Congresswoman Johnson.

In their letter to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the Members of Congress wrote: “We are deeply concerned that the right of U.S. citizens to vote in free and fair elections is again in jeopardy”. In addition to Congresswoman Johnson, the lawmakers signing the letter include: Representatives Corrine Brown, Julia Carson, William Lacy Clay, Joseph Crowley, Elijah Cummings, Danny Davis, Raul Grijalva, Michael Honda, Barbara Lee, Carolyn Maloney, Jerrold Nadler and Edolphus Towns.

The effort by these Members of Congress has generated support in the human rights community. “We support the suggestion by Members of Congress that other nations send observers to our Presidential election,” John McAuliff wrote Congresswoman Johnson. McAuliff is the Executive Director of the Fund for Reconciliation and Development. He also wrote, “The disenfranchisement of voters in Florida in 2002, and the further distortion of the democratic will in the aborted recount process, led to tragic consequences for people in many countries, including our own.”

In a related development, human rights organizations are also raising concerns about voter participation in this year’s election. For example, the U.S. based human rights group Global Exchange is also appealing to the international community to come and monitor the U.S. electoral process this fall. Global Exchange, which has carried out election monitoring in 10 countries around the world, says that international monitoring of the U.S. political system is crucial for boosting voter confidence and participation in this year’s elections. The group has plans in place to host at least 28 independent, international monitors in the U.S. as part of its Fair Elections initiative.

This is the left’s latest attempt to make this nation as screwed up as Europe is. John and John, with their commitment to getting permission from the U.N. for every military action, are part of this as well. I believe this is further evidence of the slow destruction of everything our founding fathers worked died to bring this country. We do not need international observers in this country, and we do not need elected officials in office that would give up our sovereignty to score political points in an election year.

I don’t understand why the Dem’s are still grousing about the Florida election results either. There has been an official recount, Bush won, despite election fraud committed by the Democrats.

I wonder, when Eddie Bernice Johnson references disenfranchised voters if she is talking about the thousands of republican voters in the Florida panhandle that turned and left their polling places when the networks called Florida for Gore?

Democrats Planning to Sabotage Security at Republican Convention

Fringe left Democrats are planning on sabotaging security efforts at the Republican Convention. They plan on fooling bomb sniffing dogs with gunpowder or ammonium nitrate-laced tablets. Another plan calls for protestors to through down ball bearings in front of mounted officers so that the horses will slip and fall, possibly causing injury to the horse or officer.

The planning for these attacks comes at a time when Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge is warning the U.S. about attacks from Al Qaida, a far more dangerous enemy. The constitution allows for peaceful protest. However, these protestors are not only committing crimes by including violence in their protest plans, but are giving aid and comfort to the enemy, an act which is inexcusable.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

La Shawn’s Interview on Accountability

One of my favorite stops in the blogosphere is “La Shawn Barber’s Corner”. A few weeks ago columnist, and college student, Jason Alston with the Daily Dispatch (Henderson,NC) interviewed La Shawn about accountability in the black community, and politics as they pertain to the 2004 Presidential race.

As a white Conservative Christian, I don’t claim to know or understand all the issues facing the black community. I do however know the issues facing Christians in this years race. In the interview La Shawn puts these issues, and some of the answers to them in plain, easy to understand terms. It is a must read for anyone asking themselves “Who should I vote for?”

It’s Murder and Kerry Finally Admitted it.

Earlier this week John Kerry broke new ground when he said:

“I oppose abortion, personally. I don’t like abortion. I believe life does begin at conception.”

Yes, I am covering ground that much better bloggers than I have already covered. I feel though, that I need to weigh in on the issue as well.

Despite his “personal” view that abortion is wrong Kerry voted against a bill that would have banned partial birth abortions, a procedure that can only be called murder stating that:

“I can’t take my Catholic belief, my article of faith, and legislate it on a Protestant or a Jew or an atheist,”

This is another instance of Kerry changing his message to meet his crowd. How can we as Americans put our trust, indeed the fate of our nation in the hands of a man who changes his mind every time he opens his mouth. As for his opinion that we cannot legislate our personal beliefs on other people, this is an opinion that is almost as offensive and asinine as Ted “Bottom Feeder” Rall’s latest editorial cartoon.

Of course we can legislate our personal views on others, we do it all the time. I’m sure there have been people in the past that have thought that armed robbery was okay. Have we not passed laws against it because of these few people that think that it’s alright? How about murder of an adult? I’m sure that Ted Bundy thought that there was nothing wrong with his actions. Have we not outlawed murder of adults? How about treason? I’m sure we can find plenty of examples of well intentioned people in the past that have given up their country in the interest of something they perceived to be a greater good. But, we have laws against that as well.

With our further research into what takes place in the womb we are finding out that these children can feel pain, something that until recently we assumed happened late in pregnancy.

Lincoln, NE (LifeNews.com) — A doctor testifying on behalf of the Bush administration to defend the ban on partial-birth abortions described yesterday how unborn children have the ability to feel intense pain during the abortion procedure. Meanwhile, abortion practitioners attempted to avoid the question and one eventually admitted he didn’t know the answer.

Dr. Kanwaljeet Anand, a pediatrician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, said he believes unborn children suffer “severe and excruciating” pain because “the fetus is conscious” during the abortion procedure.

The baby shows increased heart rate, blood flow and hormone levels responding to pain during the abortion, Dr. Anand said.

“The physiological responses have been very clearly studied,” he said. “The fetus cannot talk … so this is the best evidence we can get.”

The only reason that I can see for us keeping up these daily acts of murder is these children cannot speak for themselves. Maybe if they could vote John Kerry might change his mind about imposing his beliefs on others….

***UPDATE***

A catholic lawyer has filed heresy charges against Kerry with the Boston Archdiocese for taking communion while professing to be a pro-choice Catholic. The complaint was filed June 14th, but was only released to the public yesterday. Usually a bishop will first investigate the case and determine whether the charges have substance, but Archbishop Sean O’Malley of Boston is under no obligation to prosecute the accused. Unfortunatly, most likely nothing will come of this. In my opinion, if Archbishop O’malley says there is no base to the charges, or refuses to persue the case, he’s either deaf and blind or as moraly bankrupt as those who support abortion.

James, the chief all bloggers has put out a far better analysis of Moore and his ilk. Go check it out. He’s part of the massive smear campaign against Moore also (incase you didn’t know). Do I hear a common thread? “Their all out to get me, the NY Times is sending me messages through the headlines, our dissent is being smothered… Digital brown shirts”. Geesh, I think we must have had a mass exedous from the looney bin, and their all Democrats.
