John Kerry…. John Kerry likes to talk about how he is better qualified to be President of the United States because he is a decorated Vietnam veteran. He doesn’t like to talk about how he abandoned his budddies after he won the silver star through the use of a little known loophole, or how he threw away his awards when he got home and quit the navy early. He also doesn’t like talking about how he rubbed elbows with the famous commie “Hanoi Jane Fonda” during his association with the communist group “Vietnam Veterans against the War” (V.V.A.W.).

Furthermore Kerry claims to be strong on intelligence and supporting the military but his voting record shows something different. I guess what I am saying is Kerry isn’t who he claims to be.

I really admire this young lady’s spirit. She has her arm taken off by a shark and she goes right back to it. She’s not going to let this get her down, she’s not going to let this stop her from doing what she wants. Maybe there is hope for Americas youth yet.

Having been through a life changing illness myself, I can attest to the fact that it is really easy to get depressed about it and give up. I have fought the urge to just call it quits many times over the last eleven months. The spirit that makes America what it is reigns though. I will not give up, after all when you fall off the horse isn’t the best policy to get right back on and keep on riding?

I have tried to keep my blogs separate, not posting on my illness here, and not posting on politics on the blog where I discuss GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome) but I thought this was noteworthy… Okay here’s the truth, I couldn’t think of anything else to post on. Soooo….

Wow talk about rehab. I finally took the big leap and joined a health club. I went for my first workout today and did about 20 min. of cardio (stationary bike, treadmill, and recumbent bike) and about 10 min. of weights. I hurt bad…. but I feel good because
1) I did more than I thought I could
2) I went up and worked out in a gym ( this is a BIG step in my recovery)

Yes, I am a light weight but when you consider that less than nine months ago I couldn’t even walk, I think I am doing pretty darn good…

I thought I would take a little time today away from politics to link to an Incredible artist, Christian, and family member, Mike Boyett. He has his own studio and foundry nestled in the piney woods of east Texas. His art work centers around Religious and “old west” themes. I hope you will take the time to check out his artwork on his website. I will be adding a permanent link to his sight soon.

President Bush…. Today President Bush finally did an end run around the Dems’ in the Senate and appointed Judge Charles Pickering to the 5th circuit Court of Appeals. Man the Dems’ will be squealing like stuck pigs on all the weekend talking head shows. Good for you Mr. President, you finally got one through the roadblock the Senate Democrats have thrown up for the last four years.

I apologize for not blogging in a while, my life has been very hectic lately. On the Blog front I humbly accept my position on the Rocky Mountain Alliance. Thank you all for considering me for membership.

Now for the train wreck that the media refers to as the Iowa caucuses. General Clark, among others, has been very critical of the war in Iraq, but courtesy of Powerline we get to see yet another flip-flop.

General Clark’s sworn testimony in front of the House Comitee on Armed Services, September 2002:

There’s no requirement to have any doctrine here. I mean this is simply a longstanding right of the United States and other nations to take the actions they deem necessary in their self defense.

Every president has deployed forces as necessary to take action. He’s done so without multilateral support if necessary. He’s done so in advance of conflict if necessary. In my experience, I was the commander of the European forces in NATO. When we took action in Kosovo, we did not have United Nations approval to do this and we did so in a way that was designed to preempt Serb ethnic cleansing and regional destabilization there. There were some people who didn’ t agree with that decision. The United Nations was not able to agree to support it with a resolution.

There’s no question that Saddam Hussein is a threat… Yes, he has chemical and biological weapons. He’s had those for a long time. But the United States right now is on a very much different defensive posture than we were before September 11th of 2001… He is, as far as we know, actively pursuing nuclear capabilities, though he doesn’t have nuclear warheads yet. If he were to acquire nuclear weapons, I think our friends in the region would face greatly increased risks as would we.

And, I want to underscore that I think the United States should not categorize this action as preemptive. Preemptive and that doctrine has nothing whatsoever to do with this problem. As Richard Perle [Ed note: !] so eloquently pointed out, this is a problem that’s longstanding. It’s been a decade in the making. It needs to be dealt with and the clock is ticking on this.

I think there’s no question that, even though we may not have the evidence as Richard [Perle] says, that there have been such contacts [between Iraq and al Qaeda]. It’ s normal. It’s natural. These are a lot of bad actors in the same region together. They are going to bump into each other. They are going to exchange information. They’re going to feel each other out and see whether there are opportunities to cooperate. That’s inevitable in this region, and I think it’s clear that regardless of whether or not such evidence is produced of these connections that Saddam Hussein is a threat.

Pray for more judges like this….. Mr. C. Reid ( the shoe bomber) was sentenced to life in prison this year. I found this quote from Judge William Young on Damascus Road today. I hope every despot and terrorist that would try to destroy this great nation takes very careful note of what he has to say.

Willie Nelson has written his own protest song… Say it ‘aint so Willie. Being a country music junky and refomed over the road truck driver, I like most of Willie’s music and I know he has always been out there on the druggie left, but this one isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Funny, I didn’t hear Willie singing about liars when Bill Clinton was in office.
